Our Farmers Market share is a supportive partnership that directly connects consumers to the farmer growing their food. In short, Farmers Market share members buy a share of the farm at the beginning of the year in exchange for a credit to spend during the growing season at Echollective’s market stall at the Iowa City Saturday Farmers Market.
In addition to local, farm-fresh produce, our Farmers Market share members receive Echollective’s weekly newsletter with seasonal recipe ideas, processing and storage tips, and farm updates. We think the Farmers Market share is great for anyone who eats (but we are biased). Unlike the farm’s CSA, the Farmers Market share is better suited to individuals or groups who prefer to choose their produce (perhaps due to dietary restriction). Additionally, the Farmers Market share works well for anyone with a more inconsistent schedule (maybe you travel during the summer). In all seriousness, a Farmers Market is a great way to align your values of caring for the planet and people in your community with how you eat while getting to know more about the land and farmers who grow your food.
Since the heart of Echollective Farm’s mission is to grow food that is nourishing to people and the planet, we truly see our Farmer Market Share members as our biggest supporters. Your Farmers Market share membership support us — your farmers — so that we can support the worms, birds, bees, native plants, clean water, healthy air, and all people in our community.
